Dr. Jennifer Klug is an assistant professor in the MSOE School of Nursing. Prior to joining academia, Klug was a clinical nurse specialist at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and Aurora Oshkosh Medical Center, and as an advanced practice nurse for St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

Nursing Care of the Client Experiencing Acute Episodic Health Challenges I

Students expand their assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills while providing care to clients across the lifespan. The focus is on health promotion/health maintenance and acute, episodic health challenges. Students develop their understanding of the role of the nurse as a key member of the healthcare team.

Leadership I and Leadership II

Students gain an understanding of the critical roles of nurse as leader and manager - as an informal leader at the bedside as well as more formalized roles. Expands view from direct care for individuals/families/communities to include an understanding of the role of healthcare systems and increasing globalization of healthcare.

Health Concepts and Health Assessment

Students learn how to obtain a thorough and accurate health history as well as develop skills needed to complete a comprehensive head-to-toe physical assessment. In addition, they begin to develop an understanding of the importance of health promotion/health maintenance and how to facilitate positive health behavior changes.
